About the FLTA Program:
The Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) program is an important component of the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, which is implemented by the Institute of International Education (IIE). While in the United States, FLTAs, who are often English language teachers in their home countries, refine their teaching skills, increase their English language proficiency, and extend their knowledge of the society and culture of the United States. They serve as teaching assistants in the instruction of their native language to U.S. students and strengthen foreign language instruction at a diverse group of colleges and universities across the United States. Fulbright FLTAs also interact with their host communities in conversation groups, extracurricular activities, and community outreach projects, providing an opportunity for U.S. citizens to increase their understanding of foreign countries and cultures.
Connect with Fulbright and check back to learn about how the FLTA program will continue to celebrate the Fulbright Program’s 75th anniversary.
