Lithuania joins countries around the world in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program. The U.S.-Lithuania Fulbright Program began in 1992 and has funded the exchange of approximately 500 Lithuanian and U.S. citizens. The U.S. Embassy in Lithuania congratulates all Fulbright alumni in Lithuania and the United States on this important milestone of educational and cultural exchange.
To celebrate the Fulbright 75th anniversary:
- - The U.S. Embassy in Lithuania will host a reception for Fulbright alumni and grantees on August 4 and issue a press release “The Fulbright Program – Celebrating 75 years of Global Impact”.
- - To showcase the valuable contribution of U.S. and Lithuanian Fulbright grantees to the scholarly conversation, the U.S. Embassy’s social media platforms will feature a photo collage of Lithuanian and U.S. Fulbright alumni with their printed books and publications resulting from their Fulbright exchange (August 4-5): https://www.facebook.com/vilnius.usembassy/ .
- - Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) will broadcast a media interview (Lithuanian-language) with the first Lithuanian Fulbrighter and a current U.S. Fulbrighter in Lithuania about the Fulbright program’s impact on individual careers, institutions, and countries (August 5).
- - In acknowledgement of international Fulbright alumni collaboration, the U.S.-LT Alumni Association in Lithuania and the Finnish ASLA-Fulbright Alumni Association will co-host a webinar in English called “Building international alumni communities for support and resilience” (August 5, 3pm Lithuania time): https://www.facebook.com/events/151853580378434/
- - The first episode of the Podcast series “75.30” (in English) will be launched on U.S. Embassy’s YouTube platform https://www.youtube.com/user/USEmbassyLithuania/videos.
