Fulbright Day: Sri Lanka
To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the global Fulbright Program, the Fulbright Commission in Sri Lanka presents a virtual keynote address, “Connecting Crossing Boundaries and Imaging sans Structures: Reflections on Fulbright Experiences”, by Fulbright Alumnus and eminent scholar Prof. Gamini Keerawella. The talk will draw from his vast experiences in international affairs to highlight the true benefits of international education.
Professor Keerawella is a two-time Fulbright award recipient – Scholar-in-Residence at the College of the Holy Cross, MA and Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley. His internationally recognized research has focused on diverse areas such as peace and security in the Indian Ocean, regional security architecture and cooperation in South Asia, identity politics and post-colonial State formation in Sri Lanka. He is the Executive Director of the Regional Center for Strategic Studies, a South Asian think tank based in Sri Lanka and is Professor Emeritus, Department of Modern History at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He has also served as the Deputy Chief of Mission and Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Washington D.C.
