The world’s oceans link continents, cultures, and people across the planet. They provide access to fish, transportation, and trade, while also serving as home for wildlife, biodiversity, and cultural heritage. And yet, coasts across the world are changing as global climate change causes sea levels rise, impacting shorelines and the nearly 3 billion people who live near them. This seminar will provide perspectives on how sea level rise is impacting coasts across the planet, how people are responding to these rising waters, and the structural, natural, ethical and legal systems needed to prepare for a changing coastal future.
