Fulbright Poland Presents a Virtual Exhibition Tour: “From Black Mountain College to Pop Art”
The Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission together with the State Art Gallery in Sopot invite you to join us for a virtual exhibition tour “From Black Mountain College to Pop Art”, which will take place live on July 1, 2021 at 5 pm CET on Fulbright Poland YouTube/Facebook platforms. This tour will be led by exhibition curator and Fulbrighter Przemysław Strożek (in English).
The exhibition is on view at the State Art Gallery in Sopot (Państwowa Galeria Sztuki) until October 3rd. Based on the collection of the Archiv der Avantgarden in Dresden, the exhibition presents an evolution of avant-garde practices in the post-war United States. It showcases around 200 artworks by seminal American artists, such as John Cage, Andy Warhol, Willem de Kooning, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, Charlotte Moorman and Carolee Schneemann.
