Inside Exchanges Black History Month Edition: Fulbright

02/04/2021, 11:00 am - 11:15 am EST

The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) invites you to listen to Fulbright Program Officer Dineo Brinson interview Fulbright U.S. Student alumna Chiamaka "Chi-Chi" Ukachukwu. Join the event on Facebook Live to listen to Chi-Chi discuss her international exchange experience in Belgium as a science scholar, and her thoughts on diversity and Black History Month.

Chi-Chi was a Fulbright U.S. Student in Biology in Brussels, Belgium from 2017-2018. During the program, Chi-Chi co-created the Instagram account @FulbrightNoir to highlight the projects of Black Fulbright grantees, using it as a platform to increase awareness about the Fulbright Program and to encourage more underrepresented groups to apply. Chi-Chi is now a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Michigan.

ECA launched the Inside Exchanges: Black History Month edition this February to showcase diversity within their programs.
