Alumnus King Felipe of Spain Presents Fulbright Trajectory Award
King Felipe of Spain (honorary Fulbrighter, Georgetown, 1995) will present the Fulbright Trajectory Award to Dr. Javier Solana (Fulbright Foreign Student, University of Virginia, 1965) in the Capilla San Ildefonso at the University of Alcalá de Henares.
The award — given this year as part of Spain’s celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the worldwide Fulbright Program — honors Spanish alumni who have achieved great things during their careers. For Dr. Solana, this includes his former service as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain and as Secretary General of NATO, among many other professional accomplishments. The ceremony will be streamed live on YouTube at this link.
Honorary Fulbrighters are students from partner countries who apply through the regular Fulbright competition in accordance with established procedures; and, upon selection, they elect not to accept financial compensation for the allowances received under the grant.
