The NAFSA: Association of International Educators annual conference will virtually convene major Fulbright Program partners to share innovations, strategies, and best practices in the field of international education and exchange. Most sessions are publicly accessible through the Zoom links provided.  Sessions that are part of the NAFSA conference programming and are only available to those who have registered are noted below.

Tuesday, June 1, 2021

Topic: Internationalizing Your Campus Through Fulbright: Scholar-In-Residence, Outreach Lecturing Fund and Fulbright Language Teaching Assistants

Time: 10 am – 11 am ET
Description: Interested in internationalizing your curricula? Do you want to invite a visiting Fulbrighter to your campus for a semester or full academic year? Join us for an overview of the opportunities available to institutions through the Fulbright Program.

Topic: Fulbright Germany IEA Alumni Hour

Description: Meet colleagues from Fulbright Germany and IEA alumni to learn about additional opportunities networking with German institutions.

Topic: Fulbright International Education Administrators Program: General Overview

Time: 2 pm – 3 pm ET
Description: The Fulbright International Education Administrators (IEA) Programs helps U.S. international education professionals and senior higher education officials create empowering connections with the societal, cultural, and higher education systems of other countries. This webinar is designed to highlight all of the IEA Seminar opportunities. Program staff who specialize in this program will present and answer questions from attendees.

Topic: Fulbright Specialist Program: General Overview

Time: 11 am – 12 pm ET
Description: The Fulbright Specialist Program provides a unique opportunity for U.S. academics (administrators, faculty, and staff) and other professionals to engage in short-term (2-6 week), project-based exchanges at host institutions around the globe.  Colleagues from World Learning will be on hand to present on these opportunities and answer questions.

Topic: How U.S. Campuses are Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Fulbright Program

Time: 2pm – 3pm ET
Description: Join Lora Seery and Athena Fulay from IIE for a roundtable discussion highlighting ways that U.S. campuses are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program and oppurtunities for participation.

Topic: Fulbright Sponsored Event: NAFSA Symposium on Leadership 2021 *Official NAFSA event requiring conference registration

Time: 10 am – 12 pm ET
Description: The 2021 Symposium on Leadership will offer current and aspiring internationalization leaders a toolkit for the next decade, focusing on thought leadership, resilience, and nimbleness to enhance their individual and institutional effectiveness as senior international officers (SIOs). This Symposium represents a significant opportunity during the annual NAFSA conference to meet with other high-level IE Leaders and SIOs to network, exchange ideas, network, and forecast effective approaches to short- and long-term challenges in international higher education. The Fulbright Program is sponsoring the Symposium and will be providing introductory video remark.

Topic: Advancing Internationalization as a Partner with Fulbright Alumni

Time: 1pm – 2 pm ET
Description: Join the Fulbright Association and program alumni for a discussion on ways you can partner with Fulbright alumni around the world to advance Fulbright's mission.

Topic: Fulbright HBCU Symposium

Time: 3 pm – 5 pm ET
Description: In recognition of the Fulbright HBCU Institutional Leaders Initiative, and in celebration of the Fulbright Program’s 75th anniversary in 2021, the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and the Institute of International Education (IIE), one of the cooperative partners for Fulbright programs, invite you to the Fulbright HBCU Symposium. This workshop will spotlight the unique role HBCU students, faculty, and administrators play in representing American higher education and the American experience both in our country and around the world. Workshop sessions will assist HBCUs in strengthening their relationship with the Fulbright Program by using Fulbright as a means to support campus internationalization and global engagement efforts, and to build global networks, which are essential in our 21st-century world.
